However many hole cards you hold, at showdown you must use exactly 2 hole cards + 3 board cards. The more hole cards, the stronger everyone's hands get; in PLO-6 it often takes the nuts to win. Hand rankings are the same as in Hold'em; see poker hand rankings.

The hand beginners misread most

You hold A♥K♥7♥3♥ and the board is Q♥9♠5♣2♦J♠. It looks like five hearts, but the board has only one heart and you can use at most 2 hole cards, so this is not a flush. The reverse is also true: four suited cards on the board plus just one card of that suit in your hand is not a flush.

The other difference is pot-limit betting: each bet or raise can be at most the current size of the pot, so you can't shove an oversized stack at any moment the way you can in No-Limit Hold'em.

Rake caps

Rake is 5%, with a cap that varies by stake and players dealt in. The official caps with 5+ players:

$1/$2$4
$2/$5, $5/$101.5BB
