How to install on Mac
- Download the .dmg. Tap the button on this page to reach the official download page, choose Mac and download Natural8.dmg.
- Drag it into Applications. Double-click the .dmg and drag the Natural8 icon into the Applications folder.
- First launch: Control-click → Open. A normal double-click may show "cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software". If so, go to Applications, hold Control and click Natural8 (or right-click), choose "Open", then click "Open" again in the dialog.
- Log in or sign up. If you have an account, log in (see the login guide); new players, see the sign-up guide.
Why the malware warning? Natural8 for Mac isn't distributed through the Mac App Store, and macOS blocks such apps by default. Natural8's help centre mentions both the warning and the fix above. As long as the installer came from the official download server, Control-click → Open is fine — don't wave through a .dmg of unknown origin this way.
Common install problems
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Apple cannot check it for malicious software | macOS blocks it by default | Control-click → Open (step 3 above) |
| Icon still sits in Downloads after opening the .dmg | It wasn't dragged into Applications | Drag it to Applications and open it from there |
| macOS older than OS X 10.10 | Below the official minimum | Update macOS, or use the mobile app |
| Download page says "we recommend playing on GGPoker" | Your current location isn't served | A VPN is not a fix — see the country guides |
What about Linux?
The official download page only has Windows, macOS, Android and iOS installers — there is no Linux client. Natural8 also says none of its poker games run in a web browser, so there's no official way to play on a Linux computer. We don't recommend running the Windows client through an unofficial compatibility layer; if something goes wrong, official support may not be able to help. The simplest option is your phone: the Android APK or the iPhone profile install.
Updating and reinstalling
When the client says a new version is out, follow the prompt. If it won't open after an update, move Natural8 from Applications to the Bin, download the latest .dmg and install it again — and use Control-click → Open on the first launch again. Your account and balance are on the server, so nothing is lost. Windows users, see the Windows guide; for anything else, see download troubleshooting.
